A cosy, warming winter drink. Spiced and aromatic, evoking the cheerful flavours and smells of the festive season.

Ingredients
330ml Tarragon, Basil and Hops Bemuse sparkling low alcohol (0.5% ABVmead
1/4 medium pear. Should be sweet & ripe
1 Cinnamon stick
5 Cloves
1 Star anise
Directions
1. Empty 1/2 can of the Bemuse into a pan and begin to warm
2. Cut the pear into thin slices approx 2mm thick. Add to the hot liquid and allow the mixture to simmer for 5 mins until the pear is softened
3. Add all remaining liquid from the can to the pan, swirling to relase any sediment. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves and star anise
4. Allow mixture to warm and simmer for another 10 mins. The liquid will reduce and intensify the flavours and aromas.
5. When ready, strain the contents into a cup or glass to remove the poached pear pieces. Set aside the cinnamon stick and star anise
6. Finally, return the cinnamon stick and star anise back to the drink and add a fresh slice of pear for flavour and decoration.
